  7.    From those humblest of beginnings,  DarkStar began almost immediately  to █ 
  8.    influence other software developers throughout the telecommunications in- █ 
  9.    dustry. Suddenly everyone and his brother was developing a graphics-based █ 
  10.    BBS platform, duplicating the functions and features of the tiny DarkStar █ 
  11.    platform.                                                                 █

  13.    Others may follow, but DarkStar continues to lead.  Assuming a leadership █ 
  14.    role following the release of DarkStar 1.01c in June of 1993, the  author █ 
  15.    of the DarkStar platform took development "underground" and began work on █ 
  16.    this, DarkStar 1.02a. The 1.00x and 1.01x revisions, despite their  over- █ 
  17.    whelming popularity at the time, were nonetheless experiments.  And these █ 
  18.    early feasibility studies had proven themselves extremely successful.  So █ 
  19.    successful that, in June of 1993, immediately following the 1.01c release █ 
  20.    work on 1.02a began.                                                      █
